Well we can either respect and understand the hustle of the other person or just accept that it is annoying. But a woman finds her mother’s husband very annoying for his cheap little tricks to save money. Though she believes that he is a good person but this habit of his she cannot digest.

Her mother and her husband got together after she moved out for university. She explained her side of the story and wrote: “At fast food places he will ask my mum to forgo cheese on her burger in order to knock a few pennies off. Out at dinner places he has asked her to forgo a drink off the menu and just fill up on water and has suggested when they’re paying that we downgrade our meat choices for the option that is usually a pound cheaper.”

Other than that he even asked the woman her boyfriend and his niece to swap to the kid’s menu so that they could save some money. But recently he went a notch higher when her mother’s husband in front of everyone and some other families who had joined them for dinner started with his same tricks.

The woman shared that she was furious about the whole thing and called him out in front of everyone. Even her mother had enough of his cheap tricks and asked him the same. She was tired of his habit. And she loves to spend a little something on a gift for someone she loves or cares about. And still knowing about it her husband used to make her feel bad about it.

She shared that her mother’s husband now thinks that she is a rude little brat. And the woman thinks that she did nothing wrong by standing up for her mother. She turned to Reddit users to know their views on the entire situation. A reader replied that the husband is just behaving cheaply especially when your mother contributes financially. The reader added that her mother should have freedom in the relationship. And he should not control the way she spends her money as she is not wasting it.

Another reader replied that: “He deserves to be called out not have his behavior normalized. It is not normal. Let him feel bad whenever he does it to understand how he makes those he does this to feel.” Then there was another one who was thinking on the same lines and wrote that your mother should not get robbed of life’s simple joys. And the reader thinks that it’s more like a mental illness than a rational plan to save money
