“The first thing she told me was felony embezzlement so I thought I was gonna have a heart attack” McBride said. McBride was unaware of this activity until she applied for changing her name on the license soon after she got married in Texas.

As she learned this she called up on the number provided to her and that directed her call to a woman in Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office. When the woman informed McBride that this was all over a VHS tape she was amused and asked the lady to repeat the sentence as she thought it was crazy. “She told me it was over the VHS tape and I had to make her repeat it because I thought this is insane. This girl is kidding me right? She wasn’t kidding” McBride said.

It is seen that McBride was charged with offence misappropriation of this rented item in March 2020. According to FOX 25 Tuesday McBride does not have it in her memory about renting the movie. “I had lived with a young man; this was over 20 years ago. He had two kids daughters that were 8 10 or 11 years old and I’m thinking he went and got it and didn’t take it back or something. I have never watched that show in my entire life just not my cup of tea” McBride said. “Meanwhile I’m a wanted felon for a VHS tape.”

The movie was rented at ‘Movie Place’ in Norman which is no longer serviceable. The records show that the business had shut down in 2008. Ed Blau along with Blau Law Firm informed FOX 25 Tuesday that the case apparently has no victim because of the business termination Cleveland County still has the authority to impeach the case as charges and warrant was filed against Mc Bride.

McBride exclaimed that she did not intend to cheat anyone over a Sabrina the Teenage Witch. McBride now was not able to get a reason for all the jobs she was being left out of over the last 20 years. Earlier everything was puzzling was her but now everything made sense. “This is why… because when they ran my criminal background check all they’re seeing is those two words: felony embezzlement” McBride said.

The Cleveland County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday was asked about the McBride’s Case. The next day the DA’s office informed that the final decision was taken to sack the case and dump it. Blau told FOX 25 Thursday that the case needs to be wiped out by McBride in order to keep her records ink free.

A VHS tape could get you in records and get you lose of job opportunities never thought of it right. This case above can be a little silly to some but these kinds of things happen. It teaches us a really important lesson to be vigilant and aware of our smallest of chores and activities.
