A wedding day is one of the most memorable days in one’s life. It is hurtful when your best friend and bridesmaid cannot attend it. A Canadian bride was devasted when her closest friend could not attend her wedding due to lockdown restrictions but was blown away when her friend attended the wedding via hologram.

Brittany Smith Gallant, a Canadian bride was getting married but was devasted because her best friend and bridesmaid Sarah Redington could not attend her wedding. Sarah Redington lives in London and could not attend the wedding due to travel restrictions because of COVID-19. But the groom could not see his bride-to-be upset so he contacted a company that creates a 3D hologram. He ensured that Sarah could attend the wedding even if she is in the form of a hologram. And Brittany was blown away by the surprise that her groom and best friend had in store for her.

Before introducing the hologram to everyone and especially to her bride Jeffery told the guests: "I think everyone here knows how important London is to Brittany, and it's also home to many of her closest friends, some who, because of COVID restrictions, unfortunately, couldn't physically be here with us tonight. Without further ado, I'd like to introduce you to one of Brittany's bridesmaids from London, Sarah Redington."

Brittany’s expressions were worth the surprise. She said: “Oh my god, this is incredible." To make a successful appearance Sarah dolled herself up at 3:00 am and went to the London-based studio. She had to go in super early to make it up for the time difference between the UK and Canada.

The chief officer at ARHT Media Inc, Larry O'Reilly explained: “We capture her on a 4K camera from a video perspective. We also capture her audio and we take that information and we put it into our server where we encrypt it and we compress it and we send it over the common internet. He further explained how the brain tells you that the person in the form of the hologram is in the room. He shared “Your brain is telling you they're in the room with you and that's when you create presence and it changes the emotional engagement and communication in a very meaningful way."

Brittany was very happy with the surprise and she appreciated all the efforts her husband, her best friend and the company had put to make her wedding day so special. After the wedding, she added: “When that surprise happened of the hologram, it was, as I've said, it was the cherry on top for sure, but it was just so special because I, like, physically saw her there, although it was just particles. But it was really special, really special."
